Bonjour!
So I have a dilemma. A friend of mine has pretty much paid for me to get a tattoo because we're getting something together. However there's a lot of tattoo time paid for, so much so that I will have time to get something else, which brings me to the point of this blog post. Are video game tattoos a good idea?
Exhibit A:
This one is beaut, I love Zelda and my video game tattoo will be themed to it. Not this however. It's small, it's not too much and it's really, really pretty. Although i'm sure the guy was going for 'bad ass'. I actually love this one and it's my case for one looking good! However..
Exhibit B:
Don't get me wrong, i'm sure this gal loves it however it's kinda tied into my big tattoo theme of regret. Even the guy above, will he regret that in say ten years? I myself don't think i'll ever outgrow video games, they are entwined to my life and that'll never change, it'll only get better. However if I get a tattoo based on a video game, will I regret it?
I've decided what i'll be getting, below is the Hylian alphabet and my name in it. I've decided it's what I want, however, will I regret it?
Hopefully not! If anyone does read this thing, opinions would be valued! If not, I hope I don't get to a point where I do regret it.

In a house not so far away, and not so long ago...
Hi there!
Chances are you didn't stumble upon this blog, frankly I don't know if I'll ever give it out to friends so maybe that'll be the ONLY way to see this!
Recently I was told I should start blogging so I thought hells bells I best get down with the kids and hop to it! So here I am writing my first post for Rantings of a Northern Irish Nerd. <--- That's me, by the way, you might have guessed. I won't lie, the blog name isn't ideal but when push came to shove my creativity went out the window when I needed it. Anyway! Onto the introduction, roll the credits! (I haven't got credits, so just imagine a kick ass collage of photos of me playing a guitar which I cannot play to the song, "Jolene" by Dolly Parton.)
My name is Andrew, i'm twenty, and I'm an alcoholic. I'm kidding, kind of. I was born and live in Northern Ireland, currently in Belfast, it's capital but I shall be moving back to the homestead in Newtownards come May. Why? Cause living away for Uni is expensive as hell! A good way to weave in I'm in Uni I thought. I'm currently studying English with an ambition of one day teaching English, Drama and History!
When I was told I should start blogging I asked my friend, "About what? And aimed at who?" His response was simple, "Whatever and whoever." Frankly if this blog acts as a journal, or perhaps a chance to flex my writing muscles now and then, it's all good! Although I should tell you what peaks my interests, and what I'll write about!
As you can tell by the title, I'm a nerd. Self-professed, and I embrace it fully. Although don't get me mixed up with a geek. I'm not sciencey or a genius, God no. If anything my academic past has had ups and downs... No I am a nerd, I love gaming, I love reading the oddest books, I love history with a passion and I love the Queen of Country. This blog will be full of posts about these subjects! ('Full', as if I'm gonna blog all day, everyday.) Fear not, the Dolly Parton posts will probably be to a minimum despite referencing her three times already in my first blog post ever.
Whether it's a rant about a certain game, a gushing review or a really interesting tale from history, I hope someone eventually reads this thing, and perhaps has a chuckle here and then. So for now, I'll 'sign off', listen to me, like I'm on the news. Time to give my first post some proper thought! I'm thinking gaming rant!
Dolly Guide You,
-Andrew
